MobileSchools is an initiative that I started called SA.S.T.E.M (South Africa’s Science, technology, Engineering & Mathematics) and the aim of the project is to improve education in South Africa through technology. The FREE mobile application will be launched in 2016, and will be made available to registered students. MobileSchools aims to bring together students, teachers and parents in the search for a better education. The South African education system has been under enormous pressure and our objective is to help students prosper in their studies. We believe that we can deliver quality education through technology, and more particularly, through the use of smartphones.

Opportunities presented by the upcoming EDTECH AFRICA SUMMIT enable start-ups to network with experienced people in the sector and gain valuable knowledge. Access to education is a basic human right and to have the opportunity to engage on this matter with international experts on education is of high value

Integration of Technology in Classrooms: The Creation of a Learning Management System (LMS) through WHATSAPP

TThe integration of technology in classrooms will always be impractical if teachers are not a part of the strategy of implementing it. Teachers have different methods of teaching and different types of students (excluding different ages/grade) and they use these methods to get the best results from their students. When teachers create their own LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS (LMS) for mobilephones (smartphones) they will be able to understand each student’s strong and weak points. A Learning Management System will allow teachers to plan lessons, manage document workflow in the classroom and streamline communication with students and parents. Teachers will be able to individually monitor each student in less time, and personalization of educational content is likely to ensure student success.
