Gugulethu Radebe 'Gugu'

Bio

Gugulethu Radebe is currently an intern teacher at Inanda Seminary, an all-girls’ boarding school in Durban. She is passionate about education and the effect it has on the social roles that students undertake at later stages in their lives.She is a public speaking coach and a facilitator for BOLD, a girls empowerment group that is part of a global network. Coupled with her love for education and women’s empowerment, she is also a great believer in sustainable and eco-friendly use of technology. She is currently studying for a Bachelor in Education through the University of South Africa (UNISA) majoring in English and History. She is the Media and Communications Director for EdTech Africa 2015 and a presenter on the workshop team.

Ed Tech is an amazing opportunity to help equip teachers with the knowledge needed in order to teach 21st century skills. It creates a bridge between the present and the future and allows us to be a part of the change. I’m so excited to be part of the team that makes this happen

Teaching for the Future - Changing Roles of Both Teachers and the Tools that Help Them

In our evolving, technology rich world computer programming is a critical language for all. Programming teaches students powerful critical thinking and creative problem skills that will enable them to be the shapers of their futures. In this interactive workshop we will explore the benefits of coding by completing our very own coding projects using the Scratch platform and explore ways educators have brought programming into the classroom across curriculum areas.
